Today I’m launching the RasPiO Portsplus 2. It’s a simple port ID board for the Raspberry Pi model B+. It’s available over at https://rasp.io/portsplus2 but full information below…
RasPiO® Portsplus 2
The RasPiO® Portsplus 2 board is designed for the new Raspberry Pi B+. It labels the ports clearly for you so that you don’t need to count pins. This will help you avoid wiring errors and damage…
You can slip it over the B+ GPIO header if you want, or hold it next to the header (many people tell me they do this – and this approach will also work for the older model A/B).
Port Numbers and Pin Numbers
RasPiO® Portsplus 2 has GPIO port numbers on one side and Pin numbers on the other side, so you can use whichever numbering system you prefer…
You can use it as an attractive key-fob as well…
At just 1mm thick, it leaves plenty of space for attaching your wires. It’s thick enough not to feel flimsy, but thin enough not to be clunky.
It Fits in the Case
RasPiO® Portsplus 2 has been designed to fit inside the new Cyntech/ModMyPi B+ case. So to get going with your GPIO experiments, all you have to do is pop off the lid, slip on the RasPiO® Portsplus 2 and start wiring.
Where and How Much?
We’ve set a Recommended Retail Price of £2. You can order from the RasP.iO portsplus web page right now.
[…] The RasPiO Portsplus 2 is now available to purchase for just £2 over at the RasPi.TV website. […]
Nice. Is there a B+ version of https://rasp.io/breakout/ on the way too? ;-)
You might think so. I couldn’t possibly comment. :)
Does this match the A+ GPIO also? I can’t find any documentation on it
Yes. The A+ GPIO is exactly the same as the B+ :)
whn is the protected 40 pin board be out
Good question. I’m a bit busy with the RasPiO Duino KickStarter at the moment, but will consider it after that
